Outcomes first
Ten, fifteen, or twenty minutes of full-screen red, plus Morning Red and Low Light. A timer and easy exit on the display you already own — not a dedicated panel.
⌥⌘R remaps the desktop to red, like an accessibility color filter. More time under visible red without blocking the afternoon.
Calculated photometry is about 0.2–0.3 mW/cm² at the glass — not a measured panel dose, and not a 660 nm or 850 nm claim.
Two ways
Full-screen Maximum Red — Display P3 (1, 0, 0). Timed sessions default to the Staggered soft-grid look on a full red field, a session appearance for wellness and ambiance — not a treatment. Morning Red is the same 15-minute clock as a morning option. Low Light is a quieter 30-minute Dark Red field. Night Shift, True Tone, and Invert Colors off. Escape or Option-Command-Period exits.
The desktop stays usable. The color is remapped to red. Option-Command-R toggles it. Option-Command-Period restores colors and ends a running session.
Straight answers
Display P3 red’s published dominant wavelength is about 614.9 nm, a color description rather than a measured emission peak. The app does not provide 660 nm LED or 850 nm near-infrared output.
No. This is a timed red-light session and wellness utility. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. People search the category as red light therapy. Clinical benefits have not been established for this app.
A laptop is not a dedicated panel. Calculated output is about 0.2–0.3 mW/cm² at the glass. Choose it for timed sessions and a desktop red filter on hardware you already own — not as a substitute for a measured panel dose.
