How it works

A session or a red desktop.

Red light sessions on the display you already own — timed sessions including Morning Red and Low Light, or red while you work.

1. 15-minute session

Fill the screen with Maximum Red — Display P3 (1, 0, 0). Timed sessions default to the Staggered soft-grid look on a full red field — a session appearance for wellness and ambiance, not a treatment. The default clock is 15 minutes; 10-Minute Intense and 20-Minute Standard are also there. Invert Colors must be off or Start is blocked. Escape or Option-Command-Period ends the session. Timed sessions keep the display awake.

2. Morning Red and Low Light

Morning Red is the same 15-minute full-output session, offered as a morning option — not a circadian claim. Low Light is a 30-minute Dark Red session at 35% intensity when full output is too bright. Evening Wind Down is a quieter 20-minute Night Red field. These are session names, not medical doses.

3. Red filter while you work

The desktop is remapped to red, like an accessibility color filter. The live filter stays a solid remap and does not use the session look. Option-Command-R toggles it. Option-Command-Period restores colors and also ends a running session. Keep using your Mac with a red-tinted desktop.

4. Target versus this display

Calculated photometry is about 0.2–0.3 mW/cm² at the glass — educational, not measured, and not a dedicated-panel dose. The app compares published reference values with a calculation for your display.

5. Display Boost

On supported XDR displays, Pro can request extra brightness using the display’s available HDR range. Availability changes with system settings and display conditions. The app shows the requested and reported range; it does not measure physical light output.
